Německý Brod (Bohemia) - Mannheim
Review
Violinist born in Bohemia, arrived at the court of the Palatine elector in Mannheim, where he directed the orchestra. It became the most disciplined in Europe, famous for its gradual crescends, its dynamic contrasts and the famous «Mannheim rocket».
His symphonies consolidated the scheme into four movements with minuet and an orchestra with independent winds. He died at only 39 years old, but his school marked a whole generation, Mozart included.
