Review
German at birth, moved to Sweden in 1778 and reached the chapel master of King Gustavo III. He traveled around Europe, met Gluck and Haydn, who considered him a genius and kept his symphony in a minor.
His music, intense and dramatic, has a lot of Sturm und Drang. Born the same year as Mozart, he died only months after him and in the same year as his protector Gustavo III, who was killed in 1792, for whom he composed his last great work.
