Louňovice (Bohemia) - Dresden
Review
A collaborator of the Dresden court orchestra, he studied in Vienna with Fux and devoted most of his life to the sacred music for the Catholic chapel of the Saxony electors.
His bold harmony and inventive counterpoint were admired by Bach. Forgotten for two centuries, today it is considered one of the most original composers of the late Baroque.
