Pyrano (Istria) - Padua

Review

He studied law in Padua and had to flee after being married in secret. Since 1721 he was the first violin in the basilica of San Antonio de Padua, where he founded a violin school that attracted students from all over Europe.

He discovered the «third sound» (the differential sounds) and wrote treatises of theory. According to legend, he composed his most famous sonata after dreaming that the devil played the violin.
