Review

Heredero of a dynasty of church musicians in Lucca, decided to dedicate himself to the opera after seeing Aida in Pisa. He studied at the Milan Conservatory with Ponchielli.

Its theatre, close to verism, combines irresistible melodies with a modern orchestration. He died in Brussels leaving Turandot unfinished, which he completed Franco Alfano.
