Review

Born in Bilbao fifty years after Mozart, on the same day, he composed the "The Happy Slaves" opera at the age of 13. In 1821 he moved to Paris to study at the Conservatory with Baillot and Fétis, where he was soon appointed assistant teacher.

He died in Paris at the age of 19. His brief work —a symphony, three-quarters of rope, vocal music— He shows an extraordinary talent that places him at the border between Classicism and Romanticism.
