Calatayud - Madrid
Review
Son of an organist, he was an organist of the Royal Descalzas de Madrid and in 1724 of the Royal Chapel, of which he became a vicemaestro in 1751. At the same time he wrote music for the theatres of Madrid.
He was the most prominent Spanish composer of his generation in musical theatre. After the fire of the Alcázar in 1734 he helped to rebuild the repertoire of the Royal Chapel.
