Fusignano - Rome
Review
Formed in Bologna, he settled in Rome, where he worked for mecenas such as Queen Cristina of Sweden and Cardinal Ottoboni. As a violinist and director he was a reference throughout Europe.
He published only six collections, but they all became models: his sonatas and his grossi concerti fixed the instrumental style of the late Baroque. He was a teacher of Geminiani and Locatelli.
