Review
Simon Mayr's Alumno in Bergamo wrote about seventy operas and triumphed in Naples, Milan, Paris and Vienna, where he was a composer of the imperial court.
It dominated both tragedy and comedy: from the scene of Lucia di Lammermoor's madness to the grace of L'elisir d'amore or Don Pasquale. A serious disease removed him from the composition in his last years.
