Review
Early pianist born in Liège, since 1858 he was an organist of the Basilica of Santa Clotilde Paris, where his improvisations attracted musicians from all over the city. In 1872 he obtained the chair of the Conservatory's organ.
He was a master of an entire generation of French composers, such as d'Indy, Chausson or Duparc. His best works were late when he was over fifty years old.
