Review
Violonchelista virtuoso de Lucca, arrived in Spain around 1768. He entered the service of the infant Don Luis de Borbón, with whom he lived in Arenas de San Pedro (Avila), and later was a chamber composer of King Frederick William II of Prussia. He spent his last years in Madrid.
He wrote over a hundred quintetos, many with two cello, a formation he made his own. His music gracefully gathers the Spanish atmosphere: guitars, fandangos and the Madrid nightlife. His remains were transferred to Lucca in 1927.
