Birth: 27 January 1756 in Salzburg (now Austria).
Family: Son of Leopold Mozart, a musician and pedagogo, and Anna Maria Pertl. His sister Nannerl was also talented in music.
Prodigy child: At the age of 3, he played the keyboard and at the age of 5 he made up his first pieces. His father recognized his talent and took him on a tour of Europe to introduce him to the royal courts.
