Review
Child prodigy, lived about two years at Mozart's house, who taught him without charge. He completed his training with Albrechtsberger, Salieri and Haydn, who was succeeded in 1804 as Konzertmeister of the Esterhazy. Since 1819 he was a chapel teacher in Weimar.
Considered one of the best pianist in Europe, its bright and ornate style influenced Chopin, Schumann and Liszt. His great piano treaty (1828) was an immediate success. His work closes the Classicism and opens the door to romantic pianism.
