Life
Isaac Albéniz was born in Camprodon (Girona) on May 29, 1860 and was a prodigy piano boy who gave concerts throughout the world from a very young age. He was formed in Leipzig and Brussels and met Liszt, and for years he was above all a virtuous who composed pieces of Andalusian inspiration, such as those of the Spanish Suite.
Established in Paris since 1894, he treated Debussy, Dukas, Fauré and Chausson, and that contact transformed his writing. The fruit was Iberia, twelve piano pieces in which the Spanish folklore is dyed with impressionist harmonies and textures, and which Debussy openly admired. He died in Cambodia-les-Bains, in the French Basque Country, on May 18, 1909.
