Review
Amy Rita is an Australian-Swiss pianist and composer born in 2000 in Albany, Western Australia. He grew up in the coastal town of Queenscliff in Victoria, and at 16 he moved to Melbourne to engage in the arts. During his adolescence he played piano, cello and singing in orchestras, quartets and recitals, and began a promising career as a film actress before returning, in 2022, to his first passion: classical music.
His first single, Orbit, was born during a five-day confinement in Melbourne in 2021, reflecting the feeling of living trapped in an endless routine. His music, of a neoclassical and cinematographic cut, is inspired by his European heritage and has been compared to that of Ludovico Einaudi, Yiruma or Satie's delicacy; she herself cites Einaudi and Hans Zimmer among her references. He has performed in scenarios such as Montsalvat, the Abbotsford Convent, the Arts Centre Melbourne and the Australian Opera, and also makes up for cinema.
